It has been a while. I know. Life been lifing and I honestly just did not have the desire to keep up with my blog. So much has transpired since my last post. I am a mother of two now. Madison is my little girl and she is almost one! Time really flew! She has truly been that wild card. She keeps us on our toes and never lets up lol. Wouldn’t trade that little diva of mine for the world.
Ok! Now to the part yall came for! This move! What prompted it you say? Well my husband got an exciting offer to work for Nike! He has always been a fan of their brand and working there has been something of interest to him for some time. The opportunity came at the right time and thanks to the right people…He was offered a role there that required us to relocate back home to Memphis, TN. My job is 100% remote and my firm has offices all over the country, so if he was cool with it so was I. Us being from there and having little ones, it would be a relief to move close to our village. So, we began preparing for this move back in July. We searched for a home online and flew to Memphis in August to physically tour homes. The 1st home we toured was out of our price range, but we decided to view it and dream to kick things off. Long story short, a month later the price dropped on the home and we were able to have an offer accepted! Isn’t God something? While we were thinking we can’t afford this home, God said you can’t afford it YET. Watch me work! So we listed our home in Houston on the market the weekend before Labor Day weekend. After an open house and a few viewings during the week, literally not even 2 weeks later we had an offer on our home for asking price. Things were falling into place!
We had to be out of our home by Sept. 30th, but we didn’t close on our new home until Nov. 1st. We watched our home get packed up Sept. 26th and 27th and then we stayed in a hotel until we flew to Memphis one way with nine suitcases, two carseats, and two kids! Yes! You read that right! Thank God for mothers! My mother was with us for this transition and Lord knows we needed her! My husband’s relocation package included a rental car and corporate apartment for 60 days. We had our vehicles shipped and they were not arriving until the following week. Going from a home to an apartment with little ones has been challenging. Space is limited so routines and schedules are compromised, but we are moving into our new home next week and I absolutely cannot wait!!! Mason will be enrolled in PreK in one of the best school districts in the state starting this month and Madi will start Daycare January 2023 and that truly gives me peace of mind. So if you want to stay in the know as I turn this house into a home, subscribe! Let’s stay connected cause Kelz is back in Big Memphis!!!
