I am an integrator by nature. Connecting people and sharing life experiences are two things that come very natural to me. When I first moved to Houston back in 2013, I had a small group of girlfriends that I would hang out with whether it be brunch/day party at Social Junkie or drinks and hookah nights at Grooves. Fast forward to…eh let’s say 2019. I realized I had really built a solid network of women here in the city of Houston. From there, I decided to start First Sunday Brunches to connect my different groups of friends, colleagues, and sorors.
Before the pandemic, every first Sunday, a group of ladies and I would gather for brunch where we can converse and network. New comers to the city get looped in and friends of friends come to meet up and talk about what all we each have going on these days. I always make it a point to do introductions so new people have a chance to learn everyone’s name and job field at the table. We have connected educators, fitness interests, and drinking buddies all from a Sunday at brunch.
This past August was the 1st one since COVID, and it was such a great time. I chose Liberty Kitchen cause it had been a while since I been, and I know they have amazing food! If you are ever in Houston, go and get the Bacon Jam…anything with it is going to be amazing! The devil eggs were a table favorite! I had chargrilled oysters, gumbo, and scampi pasta.
Lots of laughs and good real conversations about life and all. These brunches have really become a highlight of my month, and I am so glad to be back in the presence of amazing ladies doing amazing things in Houston. Relationships, events, job opportunities, new restaurants, Real Housewives, and a little gossip can all come up at these get togethers lol!
I wanted to capture the brunch for the blog, so one of the ladies brought her camera. She is my blog photographer and I highly recommend her if you are looking for a photographer in the city of Houston (Tiffney Esters @tiff_e_photo on IG).
September is here, I wonder where we will go next!?!
